What’s Missing From the New Jersey FOP News? Your Lodge!

The easiest and most visible way to represent your lodge and communicate with the more than 200 other FOP lodges across the state is through the New Jersey FOP News. Don’t miss out on the chance to feature your lodge in the next issue.

How It Works

  • Ask someone affiliated with your lodge to write a short article describing the most recent news and events.
  • Email the article and related photos to njfop@911media.com.
  • See your lodge’s accomplishments printed in the New Jersey FOP News.

Suggestion Box

If you have an idea but no time to write it, we’re here to help! Send your idea (news item that would interest others, suggestion for a member profile, etc.) along with your contact information to njfop@911media.com. Our editors will be happy to assist you.

Deadlines

To ensure that your lodge is included, please submit all materials by the following closing dates for each issue. Materials received after the deadline will be accommodated if there is space.

Winter 2015 deadline: November 27, 2014

Spring 2015 deadline: April 1, 2015

Summer 2015 deadline: June 3, 2015

Fall 2015 deadline: September 2, 2015

Winter 2016 deadline: November 25, 2015

What to Write About

It’s easy! Any or all of the following will make excellent topics for your lodge’s article:

  • Upcoming lodge events
  • Awards/achievements
  • Promotions/retirements/new hires
  • Fundraisers/charitable activities
  • Changes in lodge leadership
  • In memoriam information
  • Human-interest stories
  • Contract updates
  • News items

Article Guidelines

Articles may be up to 800 words maximum. Please submit articles in Microsoft Word or plain text format. All articles are subject to review, editing and approval by the NJ State Lodge.

Picture Guidelines

We love pictures! Please email photos in either .jpg or .pdf format, at 300 dots per inch (dpi) or greater. To verify the photo size, check the file size of your image. If it’s less than 250KB, chances are the photo won’t reproduce well in print. Digital cameras of at least three megapixels or greater will take the highest-quality photos. We will do our best to accommodate low-resolution photos; however, the FOP reserves the right to omit photos that will reproduce poorly. We love pictures! You can also mail your materials to 911MEDIA, c/o production manager, at 4444 Riverside Drive, Suite 202, Burbank, CA 91505. If you need your original hardcopy photos returned to you, mark them with your lodge’s name and address, and include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your submission.
