911MEDIA Selected as Publisher for Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association magazine, Star & Shield
Burbank, California, October 24, 2007 — 911MEDIA, a division of Trade News International Inc., has announced the addition of Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA) to its roster of emergency response clientele. The 56-year-old association has approximately 8,000 members and represents the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, District Attorney’s Office, Los Angeles County Police and Department of the Coroner.
911MEDIA will assume publishing PPOA’s magazine, Star and Shield. The publication has been in existence for nearly 50 years, was previously published in-house and retains a high-level of readership as well as committed advertisers. With the change comes the need for a slight makeover, with assistance from the Association. “We are looking forward to working with Greg Torres, their communications director, and to help strengthen the readership and bring more benefits to Association members,” says Mark Deitch, president of 911MEDIA.
Star and Shield readership includes active and retired superior officers and civilian employees. While Star & Shield has proved to be a force in the industry, outsourcing its publishing needs will allow PPOA to better focus staff time on Association business. In addition, 911MEDIA consists of award-winning designers, writers/editors and a complete sales team, all ready to begin work on the new acquisition.
Says PPOA President John Stites: “Our partnership with 911MEDIA will provide for significant improvements in PPOA communication abilities with our membership and the community at large. This is another improvement sanctioned by the Board of Directors of PPOA to carry our association through the new century.”
