911MEDIA Earns 2009 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence

Custom publisher 911MEDIA has been honored with 2009 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence from Communications Concepts for its work on the California Police Journal and Golden Badge Foundation Web site.

Burbank, California, August 7, 2009 — From a field of almost 3,785 entries, the work of custom publishing, marketing communications and design firm 911MEDIA was recently honored with 2009 APEX awards from Communications Concepts, Inc. Previously, the firm won four APEX awards in 2006.

More than 700 entries in the Magazines & Journal category vied for distinctions in nine subcategories. 911MEDIA was selected in Design & Layout for its work on the California Police Journal, the official publication of the California Fraternal Order of Police (www.cafop.org). The magazine, published four times per year, was designed and launched in spring 2008.

In addition to the California Police Journal, the Golden Badge Foundation Web site (www.goldenbadgefoundation.org) was also recognized with an APEX award after competing with nearly 270 entries in the Web & Intranet Sites category. The foundation is a non-profit organization that honors California law enforcement personnel for their service and leadership and supports the spouses and dependents of fallen officers. Launched in 2008, the site was previously the recipient of a 2008 Summit Emerging Media Award.

Of the awards, 911MEDIA President and founder Mark Deitch said, “I am flattered and honored that the work we’ve performed for our clients has been recognized by Communications Concepts. As our clients are critical to maintaining public safety, we’re grateful for the opportunity to help them engage their members as well as a larger audience through professional publications and Web sites. I’d also like to acknowledge the efforts of my talented, dedicated staff.”

The international APEX Awards competition, now in its 21st year, bestows honors in 11 categories based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and overall communications for outstanding publications ranging from newsletters and magazines to annual reports, brochures and Web sites.
